ABSTRACT

Summary:

New technologies for process control and automation in plant production and animal husbandry
Electronics and process control allow the linking of all system components of agricultural production methods via information. Computer aided plant production systems facilitate a high production level with an environmentally friendly application of means of production. For animal husbandry electronics enables a better animal protection by group keeping with an intensive care of the individual animal and far extending automation of all operations. This is the prerequisite for new barn systems which meet the high requirements for economy and animal protection. In both cases computer aided systems provide a large amount of data for production, quality and farmmanagement. It is urgently necessary to put a focus on the interface between agricultural engineering and farmmanagement for developing new forward looking systems for plant production and animal husbandry which last in the area of conflict of economical and ecological requirements.
