ABSTRACT

Information Systems and Business Management
Management may be supported in its decision making process by the provision of information and decision models and their integration with modern in formation technology into operational information and decision systems. These support systems are usually linked to certain levels of decision authority which involve operational, tactical and strategic decision problems. The paper analyses the present stage of the support situation and elaborates on potential improvements and approaches for their realization. It links the sup port requirements to the business management concept and discusses necessary adaptions of support systems to the emerging process orientation in business management.
